After 10+ years in IT Networking and InfoSec with large organizations including the US Army and a Federally-owned Electric Power Corporation, Tim decided to ride the wave with a Cyber Security start up called Phantom, which was soon acquired by Splunk. Now a Security Strategist at Splunk, Tim helps bring the power of Splunk SIEM and SOAR to customers' Security Operations Centers (SOCs). A big fan of automation, practicality and Python, Tim particularly enjoys automating things so he never has to do them more than once. During his varied career, Tim has built networks, led teams, architected security infrastructure and security solutions, spoken at various conferences and consulted for large companies. Tim is a Blue Team Security engineer at heart with a passion for making Cyber defenses work better and is CISSP, GICSP and GRID certified.

Sam is the Sr. Technical Community Manager on the Phantom team at Splunk, which is a departure from his last 20 years of engineering work across Security, IAM, Automation and Development, and Infrastructure design and implementation. With his diverse technical background, he empowers our community to be their most excellent by advocating on their behalf, as well as working with them to solve difficult problems and produce valuable and interesting content.
